Thursday Thoughts: This is the Way Christians Should Dress

"... the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" (Ephesians 6:14-17).

It's as if the minute you open your eyes in the morning these nasty wicked forces begin their attack. And if you've left any part of your daily clothes off they are ready to fire those pointy arrows. Hurts when you drop your armor.

And we should probably dress our kids as well. This is the theme of my blog and hopefully soon-to-be- published book, The Watchers: "Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" (Ephesians 6:11,12).

Okay, a little scary that there are evil forces in the heavenly realms. Hmmm, a bunch of rebel devil aliens still running around? " which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—" (Ephesians 2:2). There's a prince of the air? Oh no! That's pretty close to us. I doubt they have anything to do with little green men either. Though I'm sure the disguise is do-able.

In any case (and I speak to myself), don't be such a sissy, easy target and get your dress on. Those are just my Thursday Thoughts.
