2009: A New Year And My Resolutions

Happy New Year

Happy New Year Comment Graphics

The Eve: Alone . . . yes, Lady Gatekeeper was alone. But it was a sweet deal. Peace in the castle and all. Although, she might be getting a tad bit worried that she enjoys the almost-complete separation from the outside world. Of course, "might" being the operative word, so to speak.

Nonetheless, her boys (the Prince and two of his squires) returned 30 minutes before midnight. In all probability to scare the Gatekeeper which they successfully accomplished.

In any case, she made herself a Shirley Temple (because society says you must celebrate), ate two pieces of the Colonel's chicken in front of the fireplace, and then took a long, hot, cleansing shower. Say goodbye to 2008.

Midnight: Lady G. watched the fire works (illegal in our county) through her bedroom window and read the first book of Peter right into the New Year. Within these precious pages she found a few resolutions. A little difficult but very do-able since all those meaningless resolutions never seem to go anywhere. Though . . . Lady Gatekeeper would like to lose at least two pounds a week this year.

Resolutions: Rid myself of all malice (working on it), deceit (would not really know how to do this successfully), envy (this would be the one to get rid of) and slander (pfft, no problem). About beauty--forget about it! Let pretty be the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. Well, this was part of LG's marriage vows. Did not go well with the hubby but she'll not give up on it.

Above all, love deeply and use your spiritual gifts to serve others. Have a wonderful and most blessed New Year everyone!

Lovely resolutions one and all. All answers really are found in the Bible!
