How To Have a Peaceful Vacation

You wake up to the sounds of weird little Washington blue birds that like to rustle the bushes and then run like a Road Runner out of the thickets. Yes, I do believe, they are Road Runner wanabees. Pretty though.

Then, if you strain your ears a bit you can hear the gentle gurglings of the cools waters, slipping over smooth pebbles, in our back yard creek. That's if you can drown out the creepy crawling thumps of giant spiders! And really tall cedar trees making ghostly whispers in the morning breeze. Oh, and then there's this at the crack of dawn . . .

Ah, just kidding. It's all wonderful--except the creepy spiders. Our flight to Oakland was quite nice even though we thought we were crashing into the bay. It seems that the end (or beginning) of the runway starts right on the shore. Scary! Then we waited for a half hour or so before boarding our flight to Seattle. I had the pleasure of sitting next to the captain, not the one flying. He was very informative--knew his Washington history very well even though he had never heard of Freedom Fest. Of course we told him all about it and he laughed when we said three days of rock n roll in the sun etc.

At any rate, today I packed Freedom Fest t-shirts, sweat shirts, band cd's and posters, Freedom Fest banners and what not into the Cadillac SUV rental and headed for the field--"The Field!" The UPS man came by the house later with two huge Skillet boxes of stuff which I could not even lift into the car so I left it on the doorstep. Hope no one trips over them. We finally asked UPS if they could deliver to "The Field" instead of the house. It's possible since now Freedom Fest has its own address. Impressive, don't you think?

In any case, it's been a long day, everyone's tired and finally resting. They are actually praying for rain so it won't be as dusty. Hah, praying for rain in Seattle. Not a drop! Go figure. Well, I have plans tomorrow to return the rental, and pray that someone actually picks me up. My friend from Canada is driving by, she might be of help. And hopefully we'll have a chance to visit Whitby Island. Here's to a peaceful, working, rock and roll vacation.

Hehehe, okay, but these had really, and I mean, really long hairy legs. And I swear they had beady eyes that were looking at me. :)

Will it pose for a picture?

Uuuuuw, I actually thought of taking a picture. I killed number 4 today and it did hold its position till I could show my aunt. Then it stood up! If I have the nerve I'll snap a shot next time. Yeah, right!
