Thursday Thirteen Edition #9

Thirteen PlacesI've lived, visited or wish to see.

1. Hollandia, New Guinea. Was born here. I'm a little jungle baby.

2. Beverwijk, The Netherlands. Lived there for 8 years--fell through a frozen pond once.

3. Strathpine, Queensland, Australia--I miss it down under! Chico rolls and rugby league. Oh and cricket too.

3. Washington, USA. Have bad memories here but a few good ones as well.

4. California, USA. I don't think I fit here very well, but it's home.

5. London. We were there for a couple of hours. I don't remember why though.

6. Capetown, South Africa. SCARY!!!! This was a stop-over on our journey to Australia. The Suez Canal was closed which forced us to go around the Cape of Good Hope. Life could have ended there. God had other plans.

7. Mauii, I'll take my parents there one day.

8. Colorado Springs . . . I didn't follow Dr. Dobson there but I trained the CO people and went back to CA.

9. Maine . . . I have a need to visit. It probably has something to do with Stephen King novels.

10. Chesapeake Bay or wherever there are lighthouses would be a wonderful vacation spot.

11. New Zealand . . . College girl and I would like to take the LOTR's tour.

12. I'd like to drive through England . . . London perhaps since I don't remember it the first time.

13. Italy. There in a seaside village the Gatekeeper will be happy till the end of days. We shall see.

Great list! You've lived in and visited a lot of different places! All I've seen of London is Heathrow airport, but my husband and I hope to visit the UK this summer or next.

Maui is beautiful. We were there a few years ago for a friend's wedding, and we plan on going back, perhaps for our 10th anniversary.

Happy T13. :)

#10 is beautiful! My dad lives there. I have not been back since 2001 and I miss him and the bay, the crabs, the sailing. He comes to visit us here every year. There is so much to see and visit in the area. If you get a chance James Mitchner (sp) not sure the name is spelled right. He wrote a book called the Chesapeake and it explores Smith Island and many out of the way places that are fabulous. I hope you get to go.
I want to go to OZ, Ireland, and Switzerland.
Terrific Thursday Thirteen!
My TT is posted.
Have a wonderful day!
Happy TT'ing!

I lived in Chesapeake for a few years. It really is a beautiful place to live. But if you want to see lighthouses, come to Nova Scotia. We have some kick ass ones up here. :)

I've lived in and visited a few of these places, never been to S.Africa though I hear it is beautiful. We sure do live in a wonderful and varied world. Happy travels...

You've already travelled more than I ever will. Cool list thought.

I think one of the reasons I like reading so much is that I almost feel as if I've been "there" when reading a good author.

Best wishes on completing your itenerary.

Maine is the last of the Continental states that I have yet to visit. Fun list! Mine is up as well.

Bluest Butterfly, a young teenage girl (I still believe she was an angel) reached down her arm through the hole and managed to grab my hair. She pulled me up, put me on her sled and got me home.

Wow what wonderful travels. I have only been around the US, I find people just from the East Coast to the West Coast to Southern Folks all so different, I want to experience a larger culture change one day!

Great list - I love travelling. It's always nice to see places (or hear about them) through someone elses eyes.

Thanks for visiting my TT

I'd like to do that New Zealand tour, too. I heard that they have organized motorcycle tours of the film's locations! Were you thinking of riding a motorcycle?

What a wonderful list. I so enjoy hearing what others have to say about their travels.

I love to travel too. We were blessed to have traveled while my Knight was in the Army. You'll have to read my blog titled "100 things about me". You don't need to read all of it, you can skip to #13. I share a little about where I've been blessed to travel to. :o)

Oh, our family is a big LOTR's fans. :o) My daughter even has the LOTR's dictionary.

Thanks for your prayers. I know that many are praying for me. I've felt God's peace all day long.

By the way, I just love your name: Gatekeeper. That's something we all need to be.

Hope you have a blessed weekend.

Wow! Quite the list. Glad I didn't see your list before I wrote mine, because I'm definitely going to have to add to it. Thirteen is just too small a number for travel.

My in-laws live in Maine, and you should absolutely visit someday. It is a beautiful state. I recommend the month of August...it's definitely hot & you can enjoy the coastal regions during that month!
Good TT list!

Thanks for visiting me!

What a great looking blog. Thanks for stopping by mine. I'm sorry you have bad memories of Washington state, it's really one of my favorites. I lived in Seattle for a year and am very fond of it. Hopefully that will change for you one day!

I hope you get to visit all of these places someday!
