When We Shocked the Church

Oh, come on, you loved the 80's and you hung around the Roxy and the Troubador as much as we did. I remember! They were pioneers of that Christian Rock scene don't you know. Pretty-boy rockers who brougth Jesus to the streets of LA. I will admit, the life of a rocker's wife was pretty tough, but these guys loved the Lord and had purpose. Ah, where did it all go?

I was married to one these pretty boys (photograph above) who also "posed" as Jesus for a poster. He's now an art teacher, and a good one. One of them is touring with um . . . Avion (formerly The Tories) and also with Venice when their drummer toured with the Eagles, pretty boy on the right is working for the government last I heard, and pretty boy on the left is a missionary for CRM.

What did you do in the 80's?

Hehehehe, lovin' it. If only you all know how conservative we really were.

I played the "Roxy" in the early 90's and most of the local clubs, FM Station, etc. etc....

It basically cost us more that it was worth...

We got more of our songs on the Radio just by sending them in and adding a Bottle of "Booze" for the DJ running the show for the night...

Oh yes, the pay-to-play venues.

I can remember my mom bringing home Andre Crouch records and thinking he was pretty out there for Christian music! I guess I missed the Christian rock scene in the 80's.
