TT Ed # 8 On Friday

AdventBasics

1. Advent is the preparation season for Christmas

2. It lasts for at least four Sundays

3. The longest Advent seasons are when Christmas falls on a Sunday

4. Premier Symbol: The Advent Wreath--the circle symbolizes God's love, which has no beginning or ending.

5. The greenery is for hope and eternity.

6. The wreath has four candles (three purple and one pink)

7. The candles represent the four weeks of Advent.

8. The flame is a symbol of the One who is called "the Light of the world."

9. One candle is lit for each of the Sundays.

10. Scriptures are read from Isaiah, the prophets, and passages concerning John the Baptist, as Christ's herald.

11. Theme: waiting (for the birth of Jesus and His second coming), and Hope.

12. The purple candles represents, hope, peace and love. The pink candle represents joy.

13. The one white candle represents "Christ has come."

Merry Christmas Everyone!
