Another Castle For The Princess

Yesterday I helped my daughter secure a spot in a storage unit so she can put all her furniture away for at least a month. While she and three other girlfriends are looking for a house to rent, the Princess will be crashing on her friend's couch. Thank the Lord for good friends, and she has surrounded herself with quite a few of them. Her little apartment was so cute but she wants a house and be closer to school.

I realized how proud I was of her and that moving was such a big deal. But that in the bigger picture, it was only a part of life. We want them to move out on their own, be productive and well established young people.

In any case, as she was packing her clothes we had a wonderful philosophical discussion about music, God and hope, our pro-life view and government. Phew!!! She is all grown up.

Sometimes we wonder about our kids. Will they be all right out there in the big world? Will they have faith in God? Who will influence their lives. Did we teach them well, give them a solid foundation to stand on andsoforth?

Through the course of our conversation I realized that all I could do was let her go. I mean, she's been out of the house since her senior year (5 years now) but I need to give all my worries to the Lord. She's His big girl now and surprisingly enough, I guess I did teach her a few things well. Accept for those tattoos all over herself . . . just kidding!
