If Mom Had A Blog In 1942, I now know that she would post about three times a day. The stories of her war-filled childhood are coming back in bigger chunks, finally. And I was able to get in touch with my cousins in Australia, (who knew they had email down under--JK) who will eventually get the stories from their mom, my mom's oldest sister.
Mom's kid brother, in Northern Cal., just sent me a little blurp of what he remembers and that will go on mom's blog soon enough when we actually get to the POW camp story. All I need is for my uncle in Holland to read his email and send me his side of the story.
So let me direct you to a worthy story that started in 1942 in a POW camp on the exotic island of Java. Mom has lots to share--and as tragic as it is, it's full of laughter, joy and hope.

That is so exciting how the story is coming together, and that the extended family is helping out! I look forward to reading the next piece!
